Timeline and Process of a Name Review

The process is open and invites participation by the entire NHMCCD community: students, employees, alumni, residents and taxpayers. The process will be guided by a Name Review Committee representing stakeholders throughout the district.

The process began Thursday, September 6, with a call for online nominations of name options. You may nominate a name for the college district here.

Here are important dates in this process:

September 2007
6 Board of Trustees approves process to change name.
  Name nominations accepted online/onsite.
24 Name Review Committee reviews nominations; narrows list of "semifinalists"
25 "Semifinalists" announced; online "balloting" begins.
 
October 2007
9 Name Review Committee reviews results; narrows list of names to 3-4 "finalists".
10 Online "balloting" of "finalists" begins.
22 Name Review Committee reviews input, conducts research, readies recommendation.
 
November 2007
1 Board of Trustees approves new name for district.
